CASA GAMBIA PRESENTS DESKTOP COMPUTERS AND LEARNING MATERIAL TO SUKUTA LOWER BASIC SCHOOL!
CASA Gambia on their promise to invest in better education today presents 13 Desk Top Computers and learning material to 20 students at Sukuta Lower Basic School in a colorful ceremony graced by Students, Teachers, VDC Charirman, Imam, Council of Elders, Mothers Club, School Food Vendors, school authority and Members of CASA Gambia.
CASA Gambia’s Agricultural Coordinator – Alasana KD Camara introduced members of CASA Gambia, our objectives, vision and the amazing work we are doing and described the donation of desktop computers to the SLBS as a timely intervention to improve computer education in schools and advise the pupils on the importance of computers in schools and maintaining them, he also described the relationship between the two villages (Brufut & Sukuta) as cordial due to the long standing relationship we have among the two villages.
However, VDC Charman, Nuha Cham in his deliberations sited the importance of computers in schools as we are in a world of Technology where people are connected by the use of compters and the importance computer edication play in the life of pupils, he thanked CASA Gambia for the donation of computers and learning material to 20 students , which will provide conductive learning environment for the pupils of SLBS.
Mrs. Darboe, president of the Mothers Club also used the occasion to thank CASA Gambia for their stance in promoting grassroots education and site some of the issues the school is facing and pleaded with CASA Gambia foundation to intervene in renovating their dilapidated Library and to build a Vendor Shade for the food sellers in the school as they posed risk in selling food to children under mango trees.
Imam Baye – Deputy imam of Sukuta prayed for the gathering and the continued relationship between Sukuta and Brufut and encourage the members of the Association and the school to continue this relationship as it is a start of something very significant, during his deliberation he pleaded with CASA Gambia to join hands with the school and support in building Staff Room for the school as they currently do not have a staff room, he said they are mostly seated under the mango trees whenever they are called for meetings in the school. He also appealed for CASA Gambia to help with the library renovation and the construction of Vendor Shed for the Food Sellers.
In his closing remark, Mr. Suso – Headmaster of Sukuta Lower Basic School and Abbass Cham – Chairman, Education sub committee in the VDC shared the same sentiments and appealed to the foundation to help the school with a Sick Bay (a room used to nurse pupils when they feel ill). They both thanked CASA Gambia for their continued support to the School in the region.
