CASA Gambia Presents Learning Material to Schools in WCR

On 08th March, 2023, CASA Gambia through funding from its partners in abroad, conducted a school sponsorship activity in West Coast Region of The Gambia.

The daylong activity was led by the organization’s Education Coordinator, Mr Amadou A Jallow, Mrs Halimatou Colley and Sanaba Jawla. The activity implementation forms part of the organization’s objectives: To increase access to education thereby ensuring school retention for the most vulnerable children.

Through support and collaboration with school authorities, a total of eighty (80) outstanding and vulnerable pupils – twenty (20) each school – received school learning materials such as pair of uniforms, books, set box etc.

The beneficiary schools included: Sukuta Lower Basic School, Bijilo Lower Basic School, Wullinkama Lower Basic School and Brufut Lower Basic School.

Parents, school authorities and pupils were full of joy and sincerely thank the sponsors for the gesture. They have promised that the learning materials will be put into good use. Equally, the school authorities have pleaded for the initiative to be scaled up. “Education is expensive. We cannot leave it to the government alone. If we do that, we will be denying some people right to education. Therefore, on behalf of parents, I want to plea that you increase the sponsorship to more pupils”, said Mistress ….. of Bijilo.

On behalf of CASA Gambia, we wish to enormously thank all our sponsors and encourage more people to support this initiative. As it is often said, Education is the key to success and to realize this, we must ensure that there is access to basic learning necessities.
