CASA Gambia through its Sponsor a Child Project presented uniforms and learning materials to one hundred(100) students at five lower basic schools in the West Coast Region of The Gambia. The presentation took place on Wednesday, October 25th, 2023, at the grounds of the five (5) beneficiary schools.
The learning materials included uniforms exercise books, pencils, sharpeners, erasers and set boxes. Speaking at the ceremony, Amadou A Jallow – Education Coordinator, stressed the importance of education and the need for students to have access to quality learning materials.
Mr. Jallow, further expressed the organization’s commitment to supporting education in The Gambia, particularly in rural areas, and promised that the organization is working on expanding the program to the rural areas.
Mr. Alagie Ndow, Financial Coordinator urged the school authorities and parents to ensure that the lerrning materials preeented are used effectively to enhance the students’ academic performance.
In their remarks, the school authorities, and parents of the beneficiary students thanked CASA Gambia for their support and assured that the donated learning materials will be put into good use by the students.
The beneficiary schools were Wulinkama Lower Basic School, Sukuta Lower Basic School, Brufut Lower Basic School, Bijilo Lower Basic School, and Ahlus-Sufaha Islamic School. The materials were distributed to students to aid their learning and improve their academic performance.
