CASA Gambia Takes a Big Step Forward!

We are super excited to share some amazing news! CASA Gambia is officially on the path to becoming a full-blown NGO! We took a significant step toward becoming a fully-fledged Non-Governmental Organization (NGO). On July 30th, 2024, we had the privilege of hosting representatives from the NGO Affairs Agency (NGOAA) at our Brusubi office for a comprehensive appraisal.

This evaluation is crucial in transitioning from a Community-Based Organization (CBO) to an NGO. The NGOAA, under the Ministry of Local Governments and Lands, is responsible for ensuring that organizations like ours meet the necessary standards and requirements to operate as an NGO.

The appraisal process involved a thorough examination of our organizational structure, governance, programs, financial management, and overall capacity to deliver on our mission. We were delighted to showcase the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as the positive impact we have made in our community.

Becoming an NGO will enable CASA Gambia to expand our reach, access additional resources, and collaborate with a wider network of partners. This transition is aligned with our commitment to creating a more sustainable and impactful organization that can address the evolving needs of our community.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the NGOAA for their guidance and support throughout this process. We are confident that this evaluation will help us strengthen our organization and better serve the people of The Gambia.
