Casa-Gambia on Thursday 11th May 2023 had a collaborative meeting with Prince Kay – Takrama – Regional Representative – Book Aid International at our office in Brusubi, Weat Coast Region.
This meeting was necessitated by a request made by Book Aid International to explore whether CASA Gambia might have interest in receiving book donations for our work across Gambia.
During this lengthy discussion, Prince Kay – Takrama assert that, they are looking for a vibrant and youth led organization to received and distribute books to vulnerable communities, schools, libraries and Prisons as they continue to empower people through reading.
In response to their requested, our Education coordinator Amadou A Jallow gives a brief summary of our intervention areas and successes we made in our education projects, strategic focus and and plans we in place with the book donation and distribution project.
Ebrima Saidy, ICT and Innovation coordinator stressed the importance of reading books and how ready CASA Gambia is, to explore opportunities with Book Aid International. He also suggested the donation and distribution of digital copies if possible as attitude of people are changing in terms of reading.
Book Aid International is a registered UK charity which shares the power of books and help create a more equal world, with a mission in a world where everyone has access to books that will enrich, improved and change their lives.
The Chairperson of CASA Gambia stressed the importance of partnering with Book Aid International and the impact it will make in the Ives of school children, communities, prisons and libraries once the partnership is realized.
Meeting was graced by regional representative , Book Aid International, Chairperson, Education Coordinator, Financial Controller and ICT and Innovation Coordinator of CASA Gambia. We look forward to a fruitful collaboration.
